So, I decided to throw myself a little challenge yesterday. Just to make sketches. If they turn into full-blown, illustrations, great! If not, I won’t worry.
“But Patience, why do this when you have bigger fish to fry?”
Why do anything?
A.) It’s a break from larger projects
B.) Done fast
C.) It’s fun
D.) Other artists inspired me
E.) I’m human, too…
Putting together the challenge, initially I thought of focusing on just one character for 10 days each. But, seeing as my Cye-a-Day (Shin) challenge nearly broke me at Day 9 in January… okay, technically, I made it to Day 11. (I don’t think I released those sketches.)
But anyways!
I knew I could do 10 days of the same character, but it might drive me nuts. So, I thought…. You got 10 days, you got 10 braves…. Why not do a different character each day? And pick a fun fall activity!
And so, the challenge was born.
Yesterday, September 11th was Day 1. I had been working on drawing Nezu, so that’s who I wanted to work with, I spun the wheel and got “Halloween costumes”. Hmmm…. What to put Nezu in that’s cool and he’d have a fun time with it?
My brain immediately went, “big, bad voodoo daddy!” And so, I searched out voodoo men’s Halloween costumes, booted up a Zuit Suit Riot Playlist (Spotify), and off I went. Here’s the result!
Nezu in a Voodoo Doctor costume.
It was fun! 🤩
Wanna play along with me? Stick around for Day 2! Or, feel free to spin the wheels yourself!
