Why The Masho Faction?
Thank you for taking the time to stop by The Masho Faction today. I truly appreciate your visit.
Why run The Masho Faction? In fact, why pick it back up and run it yet again? There are many answers to this. I may not be able to find them all in just one writing session. In fact, as I re-acquaint myself with the series, I am sure I will update my Why.
Ultimately, my largest reason why I do this is the same as it was in 2002:
The Masho are all human first.
That, and, I love shenanigans. It’s in the little things, truly, that all add up to a great sum of joy, doing this labor of love. It’s in giving them the opportunities for new experiences. It’s in keeping the characters alive with others in the fandom (not just solo!). Honestly, these guys have been living in my head for over 20 years, and they’re the best tenants I’ve ever had- they’re never late on the rent. (-;
It’s in the redemption arc. Who doesn’t love a good redemption arc?
In fact, I’d like to think we all get our own redemption arc(s) as we continue on in life and mature with what we’ve experienced. Heck, even I’ve had a bit of my own to try and include all characters from the series in my new creative fan works. Of course, this is a work in progress. (It always is.)
It’s in looking at the past, and learning from it. It’s in the nitty gritty details, sometimes.
But version 2.0 of The Masho Faction will look a bit different.
Gone is the immaturity of many “issues”. Instead, a lot of learning has taken place. I may address this in 2.0, I may not. However, I am sure it will be seen in any newer works that I release.
The main focus will be on the Masho, of course, and content that includes them and characters from the series. New content is being thought of and made this year, from ideas I didn’t have almost 20 years ago.
Any Original Characters and content including them will have their own section. This is not to say that there won’t be any updates to these tales, but we shall see. They still make me laugh, and I will probably continue to play with them. The stories with them I have in my head are a comfort zone, if you will.
Overall, it comes from a long-standing and deep love for these characters, these four who essentially represent the Four Seasons and turning of the years (and so much more)… so it makes sense that a love for them should last as long as possible…
And it has.
I look forward to sharing more art, more writing, and more adventures with you all.
Sincerely,
Patience
